As you will be aware, I have been lecturing Radio Broadcasting to media students for around 7 years. It has truly been of the most rewarding experiences that I can account for in my life.
Those that CAN do, teach. Every word of yours is scrutinised by media hopefuls, and all that you say and do for your students does indeed shape what type of practitioner they will become, and ultimately contribute to your industry.
I decided to take my 3rd year students to one of our local community stations, Hellenic Radio for a bit of a chat. Not only was it an exercise in understanding that South Africa houses community stations for all cultures, but also putting them on other side of the mic, as the interviewees.
